Abstract
Objective: To investigate the differentially expressed genes of proliferating hemangiomas and normal tissue by cDNA microarray analysis of gene expression profiles and to identify the key disease related genes. Methods: Samples were processed from total RNA and purified to mRNA,which was reverse transcripted and hybridized onto Biodoor Genechip expression microarrays.Gene expression analysis were performed to determine the differences between the proliferating hemangiomas and the normal tissue. Results: In proliferating hemangioma,122 genes were up-regulated and 127 genes were down-regulated.Those over-expressed gene were mainly related to cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and immune cell adhesion, cell cycle-related protein, while the less-expressed genes were mainly related to cell apoptosis and tumor suppression. Conclusions: Over-expression of genes related to cell proliferation and less-expression of cell apoptosis related genes lead to imbalance between cell proliferation and apoptosis, which probably lead to the occurrence of hemangiomas.
