Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influence of arsenic trioxide (As2O3) on migration and adhesion capability in melanoma B16 cells, and evaluate the effect of As2O3 on anti-invasion and anti-metastasis ability. Methods: The invasion and migration capacities of melanoma B16 cells were evaluated using Transwell Permeable Supports. The adhesion capacity of melanoma B16 cells was evaluated by MTT assay. The expression of adhesion molecule CD44 was detected by FCM.Results: As2O3 significantly inhibited the adhesion and migration capacities of melanoma B16 cells (P<0.05 to P<0.01) and down-regulated the expression level of CD44 (P<0.01).Conclusions: As2O3 has the effect of antagonizing invasion and metastasis in melanoma B16 cells, the mechanism maybe related to decrease the expression of adhesion molecule CD44.
