Repair of facial soft tissue defects in aged with maxillocervical fascio-cutaneous flap

Abstract
Objective: To explore the application of the maxillocervical fascio-cutaneous flaps for repair of facial soft tissue defects in aged patients.Methods: The maxillocervical fascio-cutaneous flaps from mandible edge to lower jaw were designed and used for repair of the defects caused by removing the malignant tumor in aged patients.The biggest area was 9 cm×6.5 cm.Results: Three patients were repaired with good form and all were satisfied with the operative results.Conclusions: The maxillocervical fascio-cutaneous flap with sufficient blood supply and shallow texture are easily dissected and is an ideal choice in repairing the defects caused by removing the malignant tumor in aged patients.
