AgNOR image quantitative analysis and PCNA expression in gastric dysplasia and early stage gastric cancer

Objective: To investigate the significance of the argyrophilie nucleolar organizer regions associated protein(AgNOR) image quantitative analysis and PCNA expression in gastric dysplasia and early stage gastric cancer.Methods: Fifty cases of biopsy specimen with gastric mucosal dysplasia and AgNOR were analysed quantitatively by employing image analysis and the expression of PCNA with immunohistochemical staining.Results: There was significant difference between normal gastric muscosa,moderate or severe dysplasia of the AgNOR/cell nucleolar and PCNA expression(P<0.01).The results also suggested that there was significant difference between moderate or severe dysplasia,the AgNOR/cell nuclear of early stage gastric cancer and PCNA expression rate (P<0.01).Conclusions: The gastric mucosa of moderate or severe dysplasia,AgNOR/cell nuclear of early stage gastric cancer and PCNA expression rate present positive correlation.
