Surgical treatment for gastric cancer after operation invasing the region of pancreaticoduodenum:a analysis of 6 cases

Abstract
Objective:To summarize the dignosis and treatment of pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for gastric cancer after operation.Methods:From Jan.1998 to Jan.2008,6 patients performed with PD after operation because of gastric cancer were retrospectly analysed.Of the 6 cases,5 cases were porformed end-side-mucosa PD,1 end-end PD.Results:None of the cases died periopratively.Postoperative complications,including lung injection in 1 case,pancreatic leakage in 1 case,injection of abdomino in 1 case,were cured by conservative treatment.Conclusions:PD is a safe and appropriate surgical option for patients with the head of pancreas invasive by gastric cancer or local recurrence after gastrectomy for gastric cancer if without distant metastasis.
