    Nutrition support nursing for severely burned patients

    • Objective: To sum up the experience in nutrition support nursing of severely burned patients.Methods: At the end of shock stage,early gastrointestinal nutrition support was applied.On day 4 to 7,intravenous nutritional fluid was supplied as the main energy source,and then adequate protein,amino acids and lipid emulsions were administered.Results: No malnutrition,loss of body weight or severe complications occurred.All the 68 patients were cured.The wounds healed in 36 to 82 days.Conclusions: Gastrointestinal and intravenous supply of nutrition should be combined,and appropriated nursing is essential in treatment of severely burned patients.
