Clinical significance of blood and urine β₂-microglobulin determine in the early stage of hypertensive renal damage

Objective: To investigate the value of blood and urine β₂-microglobulin (β₂-MG) in the early stage of hypertensive renal damage. Methods: The blood and urine β₂-MG, as well as the serum creatinine (sCr) of 101 hypertension patients were detected by radioimmunity and enzymic method respectively. The creatinine clearance was calculated by CoCK-Croft-Gualt and the results were compared between the groups. Results: The Ccr of group B and C was obviously lower than that of group A (P<0.01), but the urine β₂-MG of the two groups was obviously higher than that of group A (P<0.05-P<0.01);Blood β₂-MG of the control group was significantly lower than that of group A, B and C (P<0.01) and its urine β₂-MG was lower than that of group B and C significantly (P<0.01). Conclusions: It is of great diagnostic and prevent significance to detect the blood and urine β₂-MG in patients with early renal damage caused by hypertension.
