Percutaneous epididymal and/or testicular sperm aspiration and intracytoplasmic sperm injection in the treatment of obstructive azoospermia

Abstract
Objective: To treat obstructive azoospermia by percutaneous epididymal,testicular sperm aspiration(PETSA) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI).Methods: Eight couples were performed PETSA and ICSI.The male were treated by PETSA to obtain normal spermatozoon.Ovarian stimulation was achieved by the long or short protocol.All metaphas Ⅱ (MⅡ) oocytes were selected for ICSI.Results: Forty-six MⅡ oocytes were injected in 9 cycles;33 fertilized;and 22 embryos were implanted.Three couples achieved clinical pregnancy.Conclusions: PETSA and ICSI are effective approaches in treatment of obstructive azoospermia.
