    The visualized teaching of the micro-otology

    • Objective: To probe into a method of elevating the students' cognition and interest in micro-otology with visualized teaching.Methods: The data of the operations on the middle ear and the inner ear were turned into video images with aid of microscope, micro-video camera, visualization equipment and modeling imaging of electronic computer to enable the students to watch the operation process visually.Meanwhile, many kinds of computer assisted instruction courseware were produced, so continuing education, long range consultation and communication could be realized by network.Results: As the students' recognition and interest in otology increased, teaching quality and efficacy were improved.With a great quantity of valuable clinical data maintained, continuing education and interchange were more convenient.Conclusions: The visualized teaching of micro-otology is an effective method of improving teaching quality and efficacy.It may be extended to other subjects of otorhinolaryngology and spread to conditioned teaching hospitals.
