Relationship between microalbuminuria and hyperinsulinemia in patients with high weight and impaired glucose tolerance

    • Objective: To study the relationship between microalbuminuria and hyperinsulinism in patients with high weight and impaired glucose tolerance. Methods: The patients with impaired glucose tolerance and high weight(BMI>25) were divided into two groups:normal albuminuria(NAU) group(Alb/Cr<2.5) and microalbumin uria group(MAU).The fasting insulin,C peptide, the blood sugar two hours after oral glucose load and the level of HbA1c were measured. Results: The level of the fasting insulin,C peptide, the blood sugar two hours after ora glucose load and HbA1c in MAU group was higher than that in NAU group(P<0.01).Conclusions: Microalbuminuriae in the patients with impaired glucose tolerance and high weight is correlated with hyperinsulinemia and glycometabolism.
