    College students' cognition for sexually transmitted diseases/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and appraisement of classroom education

    • Objective: To investigate the college students' cognition of sexually transmitted diseases(STD)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS) so as to strengthen the health education with purpose.Methods: Three hundred and seventy-five college students were surveyed by the self-administered anonymous questionnaire about the STD/AIDS prevention before and after the classroom education.Results: Before classroom education,only 74.61% of the students had some knowledge about STD/AIDS,while it was 95.93% after classroom education(P<0.005).73.77% of the students changed their views about moral behavior(P<0.05) and the rate was 80.36%(P<0.05).Conclusions: The effect of classroom education about STD/AIDS prevention is obvious at college.
