    The status of continuing medical education and its influencing factors in a Class Ⅱ Grade A hospital

    • Objective: To investigate the continuing medical education status of a Class Ⅱ Grade A hospital,and analyze its influencing factors and countermeasures.Methods: The basic information,motivation and obstacle factors of attending the continuing medical education of 509 medical staff were investigated and analyzed using a self-designed questionnaire.Results: The main influencing factors included professional development motivation(89.2%),unreasonable time arrangement(84.0%),long distance of training places(62.9%),social factors(51.1%) and individual interest(50.1%).Academic lectures(74.3%) and training courses(68.3%) were the main forms of continuing medical education,and the professional new theory and technology were the main study content(77.0%).The difference of the continuing medical education form in different titles and staffing levels medical staff were statistically significant(P<0.05 to P<0.01).The differences of the motivation and obstacle factors of attending the continuing medical education in different titles and posts medical staff were statistically significant(P<0.05 to P<0.01).Conclusions: The according continuing medical education plan is formulated according to the title and post of medical staff,which can improve the popularity and accessibility of continuing education and overall quality of medical staff.
