Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of direct lacrimal canaliculus intabation and primary canaliculusostomy under microscope for laceration of lower lacrimal canaliculus. Methods: The lacerated paranasal points of 23 patients were found under the microscope and intabated with a silica gel or plastic duct with a piece of silk through it.The two sides were sutured with nylon suture.Three months later, the tube was pulled out. Results: The lacerated points of lacrimal canaliculus in the 23 cases were found successfully at one time and two of them were with the help of a round needle from upper lacrimal canaliculus.During the follow-up of 3 to 6 months, the lacrimal passages were unobstructed in 21 cases;stenosis occurred in one case and obstruction of lacrimal ducts in one case. Conclusions: Direct lacrumal canaliculus intabation and primary canaliculusostomy have the advantages of higher success rate and fewer complications.
