Abstract
Objective: To explore the influence of pelvic organ prolapse(POP) on low urinary tract function. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 685 cases of POP was carried out,and the clinical data and urodynamic parameters were analyzed. Results: Compared with the non-anterior POP group, the anterior POP group was older in age,had a higher percentage of menopause and vaginal delivery, and fewer cases of stress incontinence;the urodynamic parameters showed that the maximum bladder capacity, detrusor pressure and residual urine volume were increased, the maximum and average urine flow rates were decreased, and the time of urinating was significantly prolonged(P<0.05-P<0.01).Compared with the non-posterior POP group, the posterior POP group had a higher percentage of menopauses and fewer cases of stress incontinence, and the residual urine volume and the time of urinating were significantly increased(P<0.05-P<0.01).Conclusions: Anterior POP may cause urethral obstruction, and is one of the responsible factors for voiding dysfunction.
