Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influence of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose(18F-FDG) on the apoptosis of Lewis lung cancer cell line and elucidate its possible mechanism. Methods: Lewis lung cancer cells were conventionally cultured.Cells during the stage of logarithmic growth were divided into 18F-FDG treatment group and control group.Using light microscopy, trammissional electron microscopy, flow cytometry and immunohistochemical techniques to analyse apoptosis induced by different concentrations of 18F-FDG and expressions of bcl-2 and bax genes. Results: Lewis lung cancer cell showed morphological and physiologic chemistry changes of apoptosis after exposure to 18F-FDG.Lipid peroxidation and apoptosis rate increased with the increase of the concentration of 18F-FDG.The expression of bcl-2 gene decreased and that of bax gene increased. Conclusions: 18F-FDG may induce apoptosis of Lewis lung cancer cells, and apoptosis rate increased with the increase of the concentration of 18F-FDG.
