Relationship of gallstone to serum C-peptide and lipid levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus

Objective: To study the relationship of gallstone to insulin resistance(IR) and lipid level in type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods: A case matched study was carried out to investigate the changes of C-peptide,serum lipids in type 2 diabetic patients with or without gallstone.Results: The rate of C-peptide,lipoprotein and cholestrol were much higher than those of the patients without gallstone.The other indexes had no statistical difference(P<0.05-P<0.001).Conclusions: The result indicates that IR and dyslipoidosis might be an independence risk factor for the development of gallstone in type 2 diabetic patients.
