Analysis of drugs for patients with rheumatoid arthritis in a certain 3A-grade hospital

    • Objective: To investigate the use of drugs for patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA)in a certain 3A-grade hospital, and to explore what the clinical pharmacists could do to ensure the medicine used is safe, economic, effective and appropriate. Methods: The clinical data of 81 RA patients in the hospital during the second and third season in 2009 were surveyed retrospectively;the information obtained was summarized and sorted out;the volume dose, constituent ratio,DDDS value and DUI value were analyzed statistically. Results: The mean onset age of the patients was high, and most of them were female. The average course of treatment was quite long, and the average cost was large. The total RA drugs applied accounted to 32 kinds,25 of what were above the standard(DUI 0.85-1.15 range),and 7 of what were not.The drugs taken out by the patients when discharged accounted to 6.28 kinds on average, among them 4.91% were antimicrobial agents,5.3% injections,31.04% essential drugs and 38.7% with general names. Conclusions: The drugs applied to RA patients are generally reasonable, but unreasonable administration still exists.Clinicians should improve their level of drug use and reinforce the rational use of drugs.
