Analysis of 71 deaths from apoplexy

Objective: To analyze the cause of death from apoplexy in order to provide scientific prevention and treatment for patients with cerebrovascular disease.Methods: The clinical data of all the 71 death cases of apoplexy were reviewed and analyzed retospectively.Results: The cause of death was related to the type of apoplexy and the complications of the internal medicine.And 38 deaths(53.5%)occurred within 3 days.Conclusions: The factors such as the type of the apoplexy,hypertension,hyperglycemia,fever,bleeding of stress ulcer and hypoproteinemia affect the prognosis of the patients.Encephalocele is the common cause of death from apoplexy.
