Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the curative effect of BiPAP ventilar in treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) with early pulmonary encephalopathy in the elderly. Methods: Sixty cases were divided into aeration group and control group. The control group received treatment of anti-infection,eliminating phlegm, relieving asthma and continuously inhaling low concentration oxygen. The aeration group were given BiPAP respirometer in addition to the above routine therapy. The respirometer parameter was S/T model. The respiratory frequency was 16/min,EPAP 3 to 4 cmH2O,IPAP 4 to 6 cmH2O,then rising to 10 to 15 cmH2O;the aeration duration was 3 to 5 days,2 times per day,4 hours per time. Results: Routine treatment combined with BiPAP respirometer improved PaO 2,relieved the respiratory muscle fatigue, and reduced the heart rate and respiratory frequency. The available rate of BiPAP was 93.3%.Conclusions: BiPAP ventilator is effective for treatment of COPD with early pulmonary encephalopathy in the elderly. It can avoid trachea incubation penditure, decrease the incidence of complication, shorten the time of hospitalization and reduce the medical expenses.
