Transurethral electrovaporization combined with intravesical instillation of hydroxycamptothecin in treatment of cystitis glandularis: Report of 24 cases

Objective: To observe the therapatic effect of intravesical instillation of hydroxycamptothecin(HCPT) combining transurethral electrovaporization in the treatment of cystitis glandularis.Methods: Twenty-four patients with cystitis glandularis were removed of the inducements,and then treated with intravesical instillation of HCPT after transurethral resection.Results: All the 24 cases were followed up.The recurrence was observed in 2 cases.The clinical symptoms of 18 cases disappeared and 4 were alleviated.Conclusions: Combination of the transurethral electrovaporization with HCPT intravesical instillation is an effective method in treating local recurrence of cystitis glandularis.
