Combined therapy for deep burn of the hands

Objective: To discuss an effective treatment method of protecting the function and appearance of the deep-burned hands.Methods: Ten patients(16 dorsa of hands) with deep second degree burn were treated by early escharectomy and skin grafting.Functional rehabilitation of the hand was conducted when the dressing was removed.Results: All the wounds healed.The follow-up showed that the appearance and function of the hands were satisfactory.Conclusions: Early operation and post-operative exercise may protect the function and the appearance of the hand with deep second degree burn.
