Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate(PKRP).Methods: The data of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) patients with PKRP from February 2006 to March 2007 were reviewed. The weight of the prostate was between 30 g and 140 g.Results: The operation lasted for 30 to 180 min.The resected tissues weighed 22-102 g.During the operation,no transurethral prostatic resection syndrome occurred. All patients were followed up for 2-12 months.Average maximum flow-rate increasedfrom 6.2 ml/s preoperatively to 18.9 m/s postoperatively.International prostatic symptom score(IPSS) decreased from average 26.1 preoperatively to average 7.3 postoperatively. Conclusions: PKRP is effective with high safety and less complications.
