Abstract
Objective: To observe the change of thyroid hormone in the serum of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) at the acute stage and the stationary phase. Methods: The levels of T3,FT3,T4,FT4 and TSH in the serum of 39 patients with COPD were detected before treatment and two weeks after treatment, and the results were compared with those of the controls. Results: The levels of T3,FT3,T4 in the serum of patients with COPD were lower than those of the controls(P<0.01).After treatment, the above levels decreased significantly in 36 cases(P<0.01),but did not in 3 severe cases. Conclusions: The dynamic change of thyroid hormone in the serum of patients with COPD is of value for the judgment of the prognosis of the patients.
