Effect of patient-controlled intravenous analgesia after cesarean section

    • Objective: To observe the analgesia effect of patient-controlled analgesia(PCA) after cesarean section. Methods: Fifty puerperium women in the experimental group received PCA and care after cesarean section and 50 controls received donlantine and routine care. The indexes such as the wound pain, the time of bedside exercise after operation and the side-effects were compared. Results: The effective rates were 92.0% and 26.0% in the experimental group and control group respectively. The difference was significant between the two groups(P<0.05),and the experimental group had earlier ambulation(P<0.001).Side-effects were observed in two patients in the experimental group and three patients in the control group. Conclusions: It is effective and safe to use PCA after cesarean section.Psychological nursing before operation and PCA after operation play an important role in the recovery for lying-in women receiving cesarean section.
